Emergency Mold remediation in our Workshop and vehicle funds
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Josh, and I own a small business that is fairly successful thanks to our many fans. :) It is called JCC - Josh's Custom Capes.
I am a father of three beautiful children! I have a 6-year-old boy and a set of 2-year-old twins (boy/girl).
I work extremely hard nearly every day with little to no breaks to provide for these little guys. Most of the time, after buying diapers/wipes, food, snacks, business materials, and paying fees to Etsy/PayPal, I'm always left at square one with no funds to show for it. We can't even afford childcare.
Recently, we have had a huge series of what seems like nonstop unfortunate events and we are in dire need of assistance.
I am the type of person who would literally wither away and become one with the stars over asking for help. This is something I am not comfortable with, but I see no other way of things getting fixed if I don't get this taken care of.
Our transmission in the new (old) truck we bought blew up less than a month after buying it. Our furnace in our workshop caught fire, then we found mold buildup in the furnace blower soon after that.
With the huge winter storm we got a few weeks back, our gutter fell off, exposing hidden mold in the "attic" portion of the workshop. And just when you thought the going couldn't get any tougher? We then caught COVID! I finally mustered up the strength to put in new wood in the gutter area, and I discovered mold between nearly every 16-inch stud in the attic. It's BAD.
Its in all of the attic under the insulation and its starting to grow on top of the insulation as well.
This all has put huge stress and strain on us that we simply cannot handle or afford.
To top things off, I lost my psychiatrist I was bonded well with due to insurance cutting off coverage to that facility.
We are all experiencing the symptoms of mold exposure: extreme fatigue, nasal irritation, eye irritation, cough, headaches, post-nasal drip, and allergy-type symptoms. It is seemingly getting worse each day we are working in here.
We have no other options of any other locations to move our machinery to get our work done. We have no access to any other space that will fit our supplies and have to keep making money to survive; therefore, we are having to sit in a mold-infested workshop to get stuff done.
I am making this request as simple as possible.
We need help to get our workshop renovated and mold-free ASAP!
This includes new insulation, new roofing/shingles, a new gutter system, drywall, paint, furnace cleanout/mold removal, and possibly any doctor fees we face due to the medical care we will likely need.
We are also in need of a good, working, reliable vehicle to get to the post office, fabric store, doctor's appointments, etc.
We also desperately need to stock up on food supplies and other basic necessities. COVID had us down for nearly an entire month, so we are missing a month's income, which has made things extremely hard.
THIS ALL WILL NOT BE CHEAP. :'(
An entirely new roof will be well over $10,000-$20,000 with labor.
a new car will likely cost over $4,000-$6,000.
everything is so expensive!!
Unfortunately, we will 100% need to build an entirely new roof since the shop was put up in the late '70s and the wood is rotted and molding. There is even a possibility that it could eventually collapse.
If you are able to donate, we would be so very appreciative!
If you are not able to donate, please share!!!
Thank you so, so much for taking the time to read!
i am more than willing to provide more pics/ proof of anything listed and i will be more than happy to provide receipts and updates!
