Emergency Open Heart Surgery for Sonny Gomez

Sonny Gomez must have open heart surgery because the tendon that holds his mitral valve in place has torn and blood is rushing back out of his left ventricle as fast as it is flowing in! Because of this time is of the essence. 

Sonny is under the care of Dr. Emily Chapel DVM MS DACVIM, Cardiology ACCESS Los Angeles.

Sonny has been the heart of our family, and rescue, for the last 8 years. He keeps us going and often accompanies on rescue missions. We specialize in medical needs small dogs through Furever Home Animal Rescue and Sonny has played his part in helping to rehabilitate 100’s of dogs after extensive surgeries. To date, against all odds, we have never lost a single dog! Thanks to the great veterinarians and Sonny constant love and encouragement!
