Emergency Prep Help For Seniors

Emergency Prep Help (EPH) provides hands-on assistance for seniors to stay safe in an emergency or natural disaster. We focus on educating seniors, building community, personalizing supplies, and establishing avenues for ongoing readiness. We do more than hand out a list!

This September, our pilot project will provide emergency preparedness workshops and ongoing support for limited-income seniors at two PEP Housing communities in Santa Rosa, California.

Please help us raise $5,000 to purchase backpacks, bags with wheels, and critical supplies (first aid kits, emergency radios, flashlights, whistles, mylar blankets, etc.). These "go bags" will be given out at the workshops, where we will help each participant personalize their bag to ensure it is complete and relevant to them.

Workshops will include presentations from local emergency services (fire departments, Red Cross, etc.) and animal services for pet safety. We will also review supplies recommended in the home to safely shelter in place, without power, for up to one week.

After the workshops, the EPH team will make a home visit to each participant and confirm their basic readiness. We will continue to engage the seniors to provide local updates, answer questions, and ensure they stay ready.
