Emergency Repairs for Jamey's House of Music!

Jamey's House of Music is a multi-award-winning live music venue and restaurant just outside of Philadelphia that has gained a worldwide reputation as one of the best places on earth to enjoy live music and good food. It is run by the husband-and-wife team of Jamey and Suyun Reilly, with musician-manager Jamey out front and Chef Suyun in the kitchen, with our much loved staff - Meghan McCormick running front of house and Greg Gaughan tending bar and booking bands.

We had a big water leak from the apartment upstairs which caused the ceiling to come crashing down into the restaurant dining room and ruin the carpet and some of our furniture - not to mention having to close the dining room which means lost business at a busy time of the year.

Our contractor has reviewed his estimate based upon the scope of the damages and feels $25,000 is a more realistic figure to stabilize the framing on the first and second floors, replace subflooring, pour self-leveling cement surfaces and install mortar bed and porcelain tile flooring with grout and caulk around fixtures, replace the old tub with a self-contained shower stall and broken vanity sink in the bathroom upstairs, reseat the toilet, and rip out the ruined wall to wall carpeting and replace the first floor in the same manner, and finally install new sheetrock to the dining room ceiling, plaster and paint to match the existing finish and repair the electrical wiring to the existing lighting. Yikes.

Construction is beginning Monday 9/25 at 9am. We're keeping fingers crossed that all goes smoothly!

We have been open for 6 years and serve the community with great food and live music but keep our prices low so people can afford to enjoy the fruits of our efforts. We are not looking to make a lot of money here, just enough to keep the lights on and give our staff a decent income - so a blow like this really is tough to take.
