Emergency Rescue Dogs Megan and Rebel
Donation protected
Hello, I hope you can help.
A friend of mine called me on 08-01-24 to ask if I am able to take two chihuahuas in otherwise they would be put to sleep. Me being me of course didn't hesitate to take them in. It isn't ideal as I am having medical treatment myself tomorrow.
The story I have been told is that an elderly lady who had dementia was the owner and she had gone into a home to be cared for. Her son was then in possession of the dogs but he was having them put to sleep as he could not afford to care for them, the majority of rescue centres are full to the brim.
My three current dogs are all rescues so I knew I was the right person to take them in, as long as I am living and breathing I will help as many animals as I can!
I have taken them to the vets today who were amazing and did not charge me for their health checks. Rebel has severe gum disease and needs all teeth removing which will cost us £600+. Poor Megan has a lump on her tummy which is possible a hernia, possibly a mammary gland tumour but we won't know until she's had a biopsy which will be around £150. If it is a hernia it will need to be removed at a cost of around £400. If it is a tumour I think we will leave it as I wouldn't want to put a 10 year old dog through the treatment. She also has a lump on her eye, the vet called it "cherry eye" and it also needs removing at a cost of around £400.
At the time, I didn't think about possible medical issues, I just wanted to help and hope you can to. If anyone can even spare a few pounds it will really help us with the vet fees. Thank you so much in advance and of course if anything was to not go ahead a refund would be provided.
