Emergency Response for The Walker Family

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you that Jonny Walker has passed away. As many of you know, Jonny had been battling a TBI and the ensuing neurological symptoms for many years. In the end, that's what played a major part in taking our friend Jonny from us.

We need your help raising funds for his family as they navigate these hards him.

Jonny served for over two years as an outstanding volunteer leader with Team Rubicon. He started as a leader with the Southern California team and joined the Denver team as a Communications Coordinator in 2019. Johnny joined the ranks of our CO Greyshirts in 2018. During his time in Cali, he deployed on six TR operations and several service projects over the years. He added to that volunteer service with 10 more ops in Colorado as well as his volunteer leadership position. Jonny could be found at anything and everything from Food Support, Vaccination Support, Fire Mitigation, and was active at a whole host of trainings and events.

Jonny is an Army veteran having served from 2000-2009 as an airborne infantryman with tours to Kosovo, South Korea, and Iraq. In 2014 the Army medically retired him and, after several life changes and a much-needed chance to "change his socks," we were fortunate that he ended up here in Denver after his wife was offered an active duty army position in 2018. Jonny was a lifelong learner and close to completion of his Master's degree in Homeland Security with a concentration on Emergency and Disaster Management when he left us.

The Walker family could use all the support they can get during this difficult time. The family was due to transfer to Ft. McCoy for their next duty station this week and his wife is now on indefinite leave. She is going to need help packing up the last of their household goods.
