Emergency Supplies for Jeremiah Program Residents

UPDATE: Due to the overwhelmingly positive response we have received, we are trying to expand this to the St. Paul Jeremiah Program campus as well. Their campus has also been gravely impacted. Thank you SO much for all of your support thus far!

Many of you are aware of the events taking place in Minneapolis right now, and I know many people have expressed a desire to help.
If you don’t already know, I am a graduate of the Jeremiah Program. The Jeremiah Program is a two-generational approach to overcoming poverty that assists young single mothers with post-secondary education, safe affordable housing, life skills, job preparation, and early childhood education for their children. This program and these women are very near to my heart. Jeremiah’s Minneapolis campus was my home for over 3 years while I went to school and got my degree. The women are a close network and many of the alumni (like Tori and her son Dom - pictured in the photo) are some of my best friends.
The current residents, who reside right in the heart of Minneapolis, have been severely impacted by current events in our city. Many grocery stores are closed or have been damaged by fire. Some of the women have no transportation and getting out to the suburbs to get supplies is incredibly challenging with small children. The alumni of JP have established a group to go out and purchase what the community needs ASAP, and as single mothers ourselves, we could use your help.
We will be buying:
- formula
- diapers
- wipes
- household products
- cleaning supplies
- toilet paper and paper towels
- and other needs as they are presented for the women and children
We can arrange receipts to legitimize your donation, as JP is a recognized non-profit organization. Every dollar will be directed toward families who need help most right now. These women are amazing - single parents who are in college and a large majority of them are honor students who are very involved in their schools and communities. They are resilient over-comers who deserve our support.
If you are able, please find it in your heart to help them at this time. Your efforts will be abundantly appreciated.
