CODE RED SUPPORT FOR DAUGHTERS BATTLE WITH CRITICAL ILLNESS

CODE RED: PLEASE HELP

I’m a single mother and my daughter is severely ill. We are experiencing a catastrophic disaster. I can’t get us back to safety and recover from this alone. It’s impossible unless we raise these funds. We must. We need your support. We appreciate any and every donation given. Due to the severity of my daughter’s medical condition immediate action is required and it can’t be achieved without you. I ask that you contribute or share with others you know will contribute. It’s urgent.

A young, precious life is at stake and will be saved with your donations. She is fighting a deadly illness and it is life threatening right now! My wonderful daughter (who wishes to remain private) is in the ACUTE STAGE of Anorexia Nervosa, which is the most severe stage of the disease. Her BMI is less than 14 – she has been unable to reach and maintain even 95 pounds. She has literally been fighting to stay alive in every way, shape and form. She is suffering extremely, both physically and psychologically.

This is an illness society does not understand or have empathy and compassion for. Which makes it all so much harder. Eating disorders are a very complex brain illness and require a team of multidisciplinary specialists. She needs aggressive medical treatment from specialists providers. She requires intensive medical monitoring, nutrition, and mental health support.
I am a devoted single mom, and I cannot work due to her fragile condition. She must stick to a prescribed food plan and can barely find the strength to cook for herself. She requires intensive medical monitoring, all of which I must do myself. To add to her distress, her wisdom teeth are growing in and they are impacted. She also needs a root canal. She’s in an unbearable amount of pain. She no longer has the comforts of home. It’s heart wrenching. There’s $3,000 that’s not covered by her insurance and I do not have.

When my extraordinary daughter became extremely ill she was hospitalized. I closed my business temporarily. It took 3 months of hospitalizations to get her medically stabilized and nutritionally rehabilitated. It’s an excruciating process and traumatic experience. This is a brain illness that wreaks havoc on the mind and body. Great difficulty comes when she is at home in maintaining her weight. She has a fear of food. A fear of eating. Can you imagine your loved one being afraid to eat? Can you imagine how strange and how challenging it would be to try to get someone to eat whose brain tells them not to? She needed a higher level of care. Then came the Pandemic. Being a single mom, helping my daughter fight for her life without the care and support she needs and experiencing a pandemic was taking its toll.

We were contacted by a benefactor (someone offering to pay for her care, housing, and expenses). We bravely decided to leave our home and come to Los Angeles. She and I believed she was finally going to receive the care she needs. But we were abandoned in an Airbnb without notice after we uprooted our entire lives. The harm thrust upon us is inconceivable. We were left abruptly with no place to go. We have no home to go back to. We are displaced. We have no friends nor family. I’ve called countless organizations countless times. No help is offered. We’ve been in terrible danger. I’m doing all I can. We are truly at zero in every sense. This is urgent.
We simply cannot get up from this devastating disaster alone. I must produce housing immediately and it cannot be done unless I have the funds. This is a life threatening, severe eating disorder. Successful treatment and recovery requires stable housing and consistent access to food, a stove, and refrigeration. My daughter’s care must be restored. It cannot happen unless I have these funds. We need a helping hand. These funds are the only way. If each person contributes, it can be raised. Once we are stabilized, we will be able to continue on our own. It would be best if we could go back to Northern California. My daughter’s BIRTHDAY is the beginning of October!! Please make a donation, we need home!

Anorexia Nervosa has the highest mortality rate of all mental illnesses – as high as the most common childhood cancer. It is not a choice. Anorexia is a severe psychiatric illness that leads to serious health complications. Death occurs by sudden cardiac arrest due to malnutrition, or suicide due to the stigma and isolation. She is currently experiencing intense Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and desperately needs to carry on with her mental health support. The amount needed to do so is $3,000. It’s crucial. If anyone has the heart and ability to provide that amount for her at this time, we would be very grateful.
It is essential for those struggling with this horrible disease to receive appropriate medical care. Many are not able to receive treatment because of the inability to pay. Her insurance has been extremely frustrating and challenging. It will not cover the care she truly needs. Without these funds, continued malnutrition due to the illness puts her at risk for subsequent vital sign instability, hospital admissions, refeeding syndrome, and even sudden cardiac death.
This is why your donations are necessary and lifesaving. I cannot do this on my own and I need help.
Our capacity to function is gone.
We are filled with enormous fear, uncertainty
and overwhelming anxiety beyond comprehension. Grief and paralyzing vulnerability. Hopelessness until people start to care.

She surely needs the support of this campaign.
She wakes up exhausted, crying, distressed and very, very, very depressed. Nobody should wake up and start their day crying and exhausted. Feeling hopeless. We've lost our whole world. All of her systems that were in place for her. It's so drastic.
Will you rally round us here to make it possible for her to win her battle with Anorexia Nervosa.
Again, time is of the essence. I cannot stress this strongly enough.
You can create possibility, healing and transformation by donating.
My daughter’s Anorexia began to emerge straight out of high school as the result of extreme bullying and isolation. It was so horrific she was forced into homeschooling, and now this dreadful illness is robbing her of her young adult life. She works tirelessly and immensely hard. In the last 5 years, we have done nothing but stay in hospitals or see doctors. It has been all consuming, and she has been fighting and doing all she can. She should be starting her life, enjoying time with friends, finding love and learning, growing, and flourishing instead of constantly being in and out of hospital because we have been unable to pay for the treatment she truly needs. She is an exceptional young girl with so many gifts and talents. She taught herself classical drawing and oil painting, and even got into top art schools around the world, but she cannot attend due to her illness. Please donate and help her get better; I want her to have a full and wonderful life, and we need your help!
Every minute counts!

oil painting is by my wonderful and talented daughter.
