Emergency Support for the Ramsden Family

At approximately 12:30 pm on January 17th, Paul Ramsden suffered a a severe Ischemic stroke (completed). The stroke was a result of an accidental tear in his carotid artery that caused severe clotting and, in turn, loss of blood to his brain. Paul's wife, Jessica Ramsden, was present when the stroke occurred and thanks to her very fast action in calling for help, first responders were able to rush Paul to Maine Medical Center immediately for emergency surgery.
Currently, Paul is under the care of doctors in the Special Care Unit at Maine Medical Center, and they are working to prevent new clots from forming and keeping him stable. As a result of the stroke, Paul has suffered paralysis on the left side of his face and the left side of his body - he cannot walk, and it is also very difficult for him to move and speak.
Jessica is currently making multiple daily trips to the hospital to help in caring for Paul and making sure he has the support and attention that he needs during the start of a long and difficult road to recovery that could take several months and beyond.
Jessica is a stay-at-home mother for their 3 children, and currently is facing no income. In the middle of a cold winter, Jessica will be solely responsible for worrying about housing, food, heat and other utilities, as well as necessities for the kids, all while looking after Paul during his recovery and taking over management of Paul's business while he is healing and regaining control of his body and mind after such major trauma.
We are raising the funds to help support Jessica and their children during this long and expensive journey to get Paul healed and back to his normal self. Many prayers are also needed!! Doctors are hopeful that he will be able to walk again with therapy, and maybe enjoy his former hobbies and be present for his family.
This wonderful family has been such a blessing to their friends and family, as we all know. They have been wonderful friends and open arms to so many of us in our times of need, and we're hoping for Paul's kids to be able to maintain their normal daily lives while they are helping their dad recover and being there for him.
Paul's road to recovery is going to be a long and difficult one for him and his family. They are currently getting help emotionally and logistically, but we are hoping we can ease some of their extensive financial burdens caused by the current situation and to ask for all of the prayers you can spare. We've created this page as a way to offer your thoughts, prayers and contributions towards helping the Ramsden family through this difficult time.
