Emergency surgery after retinal detachment

I am asking for support for my wife who has sudden vision loss to both eyes, is unable to work, drive, or afford emergency surgery. Prior to this we have fallen on financial hardship. My wife, Angela Konrath-Kobiella, was diagnosed with partial retinal detachment of both eyes on 12/2/23. Approximately a month prior, she noted increased dry eyes, shadows, and flashes of light in the corner of the eyes. Medically cleared by the vision center she was diagnosed with dry eyes and sent home with lubricating drop. Her eyes only got worse, matting shut, she was then prescribed antibiotics by telephone order, which had no effect. My wife had later found out she was misdiagnosed. After seeing a specialist she was then diagnosed with partial retinal detachment last Saturday at Rush Hospital with large retinal tears. Sunday, she had emergency surgery to the right eye with partial recovery of vision. Now, St Joesph's Hospital in Joilet, IL is asking $7,200 up front on a $24,000 surgery to repair vision to the left eye. This is one of many surgeries she will undergo. If she waits, she can risk permanent and complete vision loss to her left eye. Unfortunately, Angie's insurance does not cover this surgery. I am asking you to donate anything possible toward helping my wife recover her vision. The surgeons are saying Angie needs this surgery by Tuesday for the best chances at preserving her vision.
