Emergency surgery for Ace

Last night 6/21/18 I put my dog outside in my back yard while I was cleaning.
I heard 2 gunshots, went out back and called for my dog Ace. He came to me bleeding heavily from a gunshot wound to his chest.

I took him to an emergency vet clinic and to his regular vet this morning. 
The x-rays show he has fluid in his chest cavity and my vet said he needs chest surgery and drainage tubes.

I spent all my bill money to try and help him and I am unable to help him any further.

Ace is such a sweet dog. I can't wrap my head around why someone would do this to an animal.

I am reaching out for help for Ace.
