Emergency Surgery for Cedric
Tax deductible
Hello, we are Rhode Island Feline Rescue and we recently had to bring sweet Cedric to Ocean State Veterinary Hospital for emergency surgery.
Cedric came to us with a sad backstory. He, and 3 other cats (along with a young litter) had been relinquished due to his owner moving. Luckily, a good Samaritan stepped up. She contacted us and we agreed to take them. Upon arrival, we noticed Cedric had a large hernia protruding from his abdomen. Due to its size, chances are Cedric had been living with the hernia for quite some time. We planned to have the hernia taken care of at the time of his neuter, but things took a turn.
Cedric soon began straining when trying to poop and nothing would come out. In addition, he had vomited and his hernia was hard, red, and warm to the touch - all bad signs. We brought him to Ocean State where Cedric was diagnosed with a bowel obstruction, which means his bowels got stuck in the hernia and were strangulated.
He had emergency surgery that evening to repair the hernia and is currently recuperating, but this has left us with a large bill. His surgery depleted almost all of our funds, but there was no way we could say no.
Please consider donating to help us cover the expense we incurred and so we can continue to help other cats and kittens. Cedric is a real sweetheart and was making biscuits as soon as he came back to his foster mom.
None of what we do is without the help of those who care and who support us in our mission. Thank you so much for your support and Cedric thanks you as well.
