4/3 update from Theresa: They are going to send me home. OT, antibiotics for a few weeks. Out of work for a couple more weeks. Lab work outpatient.
I didn’t realize how much my pain I had until I got home. All I can do is lay in my bed. It’s awful.
Update from Theresa 4/1/24: Well they said I may get to go tomorrow. Oral antibiotics a few weeks and OT to get my hand working. Because I wasn’t stable enough for surgery the infection spread out so there’s no place for them to go in and repair. Would be too much. So I have to heal from the inside out. Pain is awful. I don’t know when I’ll get back to work and it’s freaking me out.
Update 3/29/24 No improvement. Platelets, white blood cells, blood pressure are running low. They’re still pumping her with antibiotics.Update: 3/28/24 They couldn’t do the surgery yet, sheis not stable. Her wound culture came back positive for group A strep. One of the worst. Her bloodwork is still terrible, fevers continue. The doctor said all the skin on her arms will be coming off. She’s going to be in the hospital and out of work longer than expected. My very close friend who I’ve known most of my life is going under an emergency surgery today to remove a septic infection from her hand. She’s in a lot of pain right now and worried about finances while not being able to work and support her family for a while. She has been there for me for everything I ever needed and thousands of other people. She’s an amazing nurse and single mother of 3 beautiful beings. Always giving all of her love and energy to anyone in need and doesn’t ask for anything in return. If you can give $1, $2, $3, $20, $100, $1000 really anything is appreciated. You don’t have to leave your name when donating. Thank you! ❤️
