Emerson's Emergency Fund

Donation protected
Life has so many hardships and there are times you say to yourself "that was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do."

Sunday Josh had to do just that.

He had to break his sweet little girls heart.

This accident has taken away one of the things she loved most in this world.  Her mother.   They were on their spring break trip with their blended family in the Nevada desert, 200 miles north of Las Vegas.

There were 5 people in her vehicle.  Lauren Starcevich (Emerson’s mother), Michael Durmeier (Lauren’s fiancé), Georgia (Michaels daughter), Jackson (Michaels son), and Emerson (Lauren’s and Josh's Daughter). Lauren, Michael, and Georgia did not make it, Jackson is in the hospital with major complications and is in need of as many prayers you can send this sweet little boy.  He is fighting for his life.

By the grace of god, Josh and Lauren's sweet little girl made it out almost unscathed. She has a fractured wrist and some bumps and scratches. Out of the 6 people in the accident, caused by an impaired driver, (who is now in custody) she literally walked away. This tiny, innocent, brave girl unbuckled herself from her car seat upside down in the vehicle and crawled her way out of the windshield when her guardian angel, a woman Josh still doesn't know, scooped her up and carried her away from the scene. She was able to then retrieve her mother’s phone and tell them who to call.

Josh is so proud of this 6 year old little girl.  She has shown more courage and determination than most people will ever have to do in their entire lives.

Emerson lost an amazing mother.  Lauren shined for everyone she met.  She lit up every room.  She was the shining light for Emerson’s life. They shared so many adventures all over the country and Lauren had the most positive influence on Emerson that will live on through her. We are all going to miss her, Emerson the most.

Josh and Emerson don’t know what the future holds for them, but they know it’s going to be so very hard.  Josh feels they have gained the most amazing support system and have been showered with love and prayers from around the world.

They are heading back home to Idaho right now, only a small piece of their new journey together.

Josh would like to thank everyone from the bottom of his heart.  Everyone has reached out to him with phone calls and messages. He is sorry he couldn’t answer all of them. The love has been out of this world.

He is trying to be as strong as he can for Emerson.  He's giving her every ounce of attention and love that is humanly possible, while making all of the logistics work.

The last thing we want is any thought or stress of money at a time like this. Thank you so much for all your prayers and donations at this difficult time. Every single one is so very appreciated from the very bottom of our hearts.
