Emilia’s Farewell

They say we are guaranteed 18 summers with our kids. Monica and I were blessed with 20 summers with our beautiful daughter Emilia. On Monday September 20th our daughter was violently and brutally taken from us and the world as we know it of a family of five has changed forever. We hold strong to the last conversation we had with Emilia on Sunday night, excited about her junior year in college at NMSU, loving her job at The Paleta Bar, living life to her fullest. Little did we know that 48 hours later we would receive a knock on our door from the Houston police department. It is a knock no parent wants to hear, followed with words no parent wants to listen to….”we are sorry to inform you”

We are thankful for any donation you may bless us with to help pay for funeral expenses as we navigate through our family tragedy. Emilia will forever live within us, her smile, her laugh, her zest for life, compassion for others is what made her one in a million. Monica, Joaquin VI, Athena and I will uphold her legacy and seek justice until the end of our days. We love you all.
