Emilie McIlmoyle and Greg Topping
Donation protected
On November 8th, 2024 Emilie unexpectedly went into labour, she was airlifted to Sunnybrook Hospital. Emilie had to have an emergency C section.
They welcomed Hazel Elizabeth Grace, and Carson Wayne Topping into the world at just 24 weeks gestation.
It’s with heavy hearts that although Carson fought hard, he did not pull through, leaving Emilie and Greg devastated.
At this time we would like to respect their privacy to grieve and build the strength to keep moving forward down a long road ahead of them with Hazel.
Emilie and Greg will be in Toronto until the unforeseen future. They will need all the support from their family and friends at this time.
We would like to help Emilie and Greg with expenses so they can put all their energy and strength towards Hazel and not have to stress about unexpected expenses that they may endure during this very difficult time.
If you are able to, anything helps at this time for Emilie, Greg and Baby Hazel.
Little angel, so precious and dear,
In our hearts, you’re always near.
Though your time with us was brief,
Your spirit brings us peace and relief.
We’ll hold you in our dreams each night,
And cherish the memories, shining bright.
Though you’re gone from our sight, we’ll never part, for you’ll forever live on in our hearts.
Rest in Peace Carson Wayne Topping

•UPDATE•
Hazel is still fighting in the Sunnybrook NICU. She is full of personality and well known around the pod for pulling her feeding tube's out and wanting to do everything on her own! She is a whopping 3.4lbs, doubling her birth weight (our chunky monkey as we like to say). She is currently feeding 21ml every two hours and continuing to get stronger and spunkier everyday. We appreciate all of the prayers and love that has been sent our way, we feel it and are so blessed.
Our home date is still unknown but we continue to take it day by day. Hazel loves her kangaroo cuddles (skin to skin) and getting comforted during handlings with her Mama and Dad's warm hand hugs. We are so grateful to be by Hazel's side daily and couldn't have done it without all of your generous help. Hazel is starting to respond to our voices and open her eyes - these moments are priceless.
As we head into the new year, we are thankful for all of the support and kindness we have received during this journey. We cannot wait to pay it forward in the future. We look forward to watching Hazel continue to grow and reach more milestones. Her resilience and independence are already so admirable- our wee warrior!
