Emil's Robbery Relief Fund

Donation protected
In December 2020, Emil and his roommate Svala’s apartment was broken into and indiscriminately robbed of everything that wasn’t bolted down: cameras, computers, electronics, family heirlooms, clothing, furniture, even dirty laundry. The police were of absolutely no help, and renter’s insurance has repeatedly denied their claims. If this weren’t traumatic enough, on June 20th of this year, Emil’s uncle’s home, where he was housesitting, was broken into and robbed while he was at work. He just purchased a new Macbook Pro in Februrary so that he wouldn’t have to spend hours editing photos on his phone. Gone, along with hard drives and SD cards containing years of work. His camera, that he uses to create beautiful and stunning artwork, gone. Drone, Marshall speaker, keys to his uncle’s car and apartment, alcohol belonging to his uncle, even his passport. All gone. He was able to trace the laptop to the apartment building next door, which is government-funded housing, but the police were unable to search the premises. They couldn’t even be bothered to take fingerprints or properly search the scene.

Emil did his best to take matters into his own hands. After seeing many of the pieces listed for sale on facebook marketplace, he enlisted the help of friends and went on a mission to retrieve his items. He managed to recover the car keys, speaker, and drone, but without any of the cords or SD cards. He has continued to collect evidence and even found an envelope containing personal documents belonging to the suspected burglar and contacted the police again, only to be told that the detective on the case has gone on summer holiday.

Emil is a hard-working, kind, loving, creative, and beautiful soul, and doesn’t deserve these constant setbacks life is sending his way. He has since accepted the fact that his stuff is gone and nothing can be done about it, as pursuing the issue was causing him too much pressure and stress. It’s just stuff. But we, his dear friends who care deeply for him, can’t accept this. The world needs him to keep making his art, and to do that he needs equipment and security. We just want to help him get his photography back on its feet and recover a little bit of faith in humanity. The estimated value of the physical items is approximately 700.000-900.000 Icelandic kronur. We want to use the funds to help him get a new camera and computer, and replace whatever else possible. This sweet man needs a break. Please consider donating just 50-100DKK to help him get back on his creative feet. Any help is very much appreciated and would mean the world to us, his dear friends, and him. Thanks in advance, and even for just reading, if you made it this far.
