Emily & Keith's Forest Fund
Hi dear all,
We are delighted to say that we have decided on our wedding list and, long story short, we would love to plant a forest!
Our dream present would be to plant 10,000 trees in celebration of our marriage.
We have found a well-respected charity that partners with local groups around the world to reforest tropical areas, respecting local biodiversity and political and cultural factors, which are essential to consider if you want reforestation to be successful.
As you may be aware, the tropical belts are the most important areas to plant trees as they have the greatest impact on protecting biodiversity - local and global - and our climate. It's also well recognised that investing in groups that work with women and girls provides much better results with tree planting and this charity does that.
Last, ethics, sustainabilty and good governance are really important to both of us and we have found this charity through our research.
Planting 10,000 trees will cost approximately £3000 and whatever you would like to contribute (if you would...) would be just wonderful.
We thought that if you could kindly transfer any contribution to our tree fund into Emily's account then we can see how much we have in total and then let you know how many trees we manage to plant together. We will also get Gift Aid added.
If you'd like to know more about the charity you can read about it here: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/jun/19/planting-billions-trees-save-planet
This shows how many trees you get for different levels of contribution: https://femmiversity.treesisters.org/donate/
Lots of love,
Emily and Keith
