Denham Family Medical Assistance Urgently Needed

On December 19, 2021, Emily didn’t wake up from her nightly sleep as usual. Her husband, Shaun Denham, had noticed something wasn’t right. Emily usually woke up several hours before her morning shift to get ready. Today was different. Emily didn’t wake up. He went to check on her and noticed that he couldn’t get her to respond. Emily is a type 1 diabetic. Terrified that she could be in a diabetic coma, he went into action to try to raise her blood sugar. Nothing was working to change her state so he had to act fast and call 9-1-1. That is just what he did. Emily was taken to the hospital. His worst fears were confirmed. Emily’s sugars had gone so dangerously low while she slept that she had diabetic ketoacidosis, which sent her to unconsciousness from the severely low sugar levels.
Sadly, this wasn't the last time this happened to Emily. A few short months later, in March, Emily experienced this again. To survive, Emily needs Guardian Sensors 3.0ml Reservoir, medication and medical supplies that amount to more than $1,000 every month. Since the family lives paycheck to paycheck, oftentimes Emily is faced with making the dangerous decision to make her medical supplies last longer than they should. She does this in an effort to try to allow their money to stretch to the end of the month to cover basic living expenses. This delicate balance of paying the utility bills and waiting to purchase her medication has put her playing this very dangerous game.
The family already has mounting medical bills, but now they are burdened with the ambulance and hospital stays from Emily's two near-death experiences in December 2021 and again in March 2022.
In addition, their eldest son Landon has just completed the first of two critical Achilles Tendon Lengthening surgeries to fix a condition known as Equinus contracture. These surgeries are costly and necessary to help Landon walk.
The Denham's have medical insurance, but it doesn't cover enough of the cost. So we are reaching out to our community, family and friends to ask for your support to help offset the mounting medical bills the family is facing. Your support will bring hope to a family that desperately needs it. This will help Emily get the medicine and medical supplies she needs and help cover the costs of Landon's surgery.
Any donation is deeply appreciated and will help.
