Emily Duncan, 21, was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer on May 22, 2023, and has spent the last month at MD Anderson in Houston. As we all have prayed and continue to pray for healing and a bright outcome to prevail, Emily’s family was given the grave news July 3rd that they would need to bring Emily home for end of life care. Emily was discharged on July 4th and is currently under Hospice.
While Emily's time is very limited, her spirit will forever endure in the hearts of those who have been touched by her remarkable presence. Her kind heart will be cherished and remembered as a beacon of hope, love, and a testimony of unwaveringly faith.
As the weight of her illness grows heavier, Emily's community recognizes the urgency and magnitude of her situation, and has rallied together to support Emily and her family during this heartbreaking time. We come together, embracing the spirit of solidarity, in an effort to alleviate the financial needs associated with Emily's future burial expenses. Inspired by her story, friends, neighbors, and even strangers opening their hearts and financial assistance, are uniting to ensure that Emily's cherished life will be celebrated to the fullest when she enters her heavenly and forever home.
In the face of adversity, Emily’s story serves as a reminder to cherish every moment, to embrace life's challenges with grace, and to hold onto faith and love even in the darkest times when we do not understand. Together, let us surround Emily and her family with love, prayers, and tangible assistance by helping to ensure that Emily's memory lives on, as well as be a testament to the power of the unbreakable bonds of a supportive community.
