Emily Perdomo: Fuel the Fight, Fund the Future ️

My name is Emily Perdomo. I’m a multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and storyteller. Recently, life handed me a story I never imagined I’d have to tell. Without warning, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Nothing could have prepared me for the unexpected twist my life was about to take, but love, in its purest form, carried me through.

Throughout this time, my parents truly became my anchor. I watched the light dim in their eyes the moment they heard my diagnosis, an invisible unraveling only a child can recognize in their parents. And yet, even as they quietly endured their own heartbreak, they reminded me of one unwavering truth: In our family, no one fights alone.

Witnessing the quiet devastation that cancer brings to a family; watching how it tests love, faith, and the very core of who we are, is beyond words. It’s beyond pain. It’s something no one should ever have to live through. And tragically, it's a reality that so many must endure. Children. Families. Babies who can’t even speak yet, holding on to life with a strength that defies their age. Parents who sit by hospital beds praying for time, for answers, for miracles. As I navigate my own healing, I know I can’t simply close this chapter—I have to transform it. I want to use my story to help children and families who are fighting a battle no one should ever have to face alone. For the children who deserve to live long, joyful lives. For the parents who deserve more birthdays, more laughter, more ordinary days. I want my experience, my pain, and my awakening to help someone else make it to adulthood.

This is why I am raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude is a beacon of hope, leading the fight against childhood cancer by offering treatment, research, and unconditional support; without ever burdening families with bills for care, travel, housing, or food. Because healing should never come with a price tag.
