Hi I’m Elysia from Grievous Gallery and Emily Soward of the band Mama Tried is my very closest and longest friend in Salisbury- We met when our venue was the first place Emily bravely took to the stage to sing in front of a crowd of open mic people (well it was kinda more of a whisper back then). If you know Em then you know she’s all about Music, Plants, Animals and Love

Emily was in an auto accident Monday morning in Salisbury and airlifted to Baptist hospital and remains in critical condition in the trauma ICU. We currently have no understanding of what occurred so please wait for details before speculations or asking around. No visitors are allowed unless you have already been contacted by family...

Framily (friends and family) are asking for patience and privacy while we navigate the scope of injuries and spending 24/7 time with her in the mean time.

While we are still waiting for some immediate family to arrive from separate parts of the country we ask for your love and support and mostly just some time to figure things out as we do not know the full scope of what we will be facing over the next few days.

We will be doing updates here as well as the Grievous Instagram and Facebook as well as the Mama Tried NC page so you all know the latest as we work through this painful time.

I am starting the goal at a number that will cover immediate housing expenses for Emily, Emily’s sister Lily whom lives with her as well as her boyfriend Ryan and close friend Shabon as they stay with her at the hospital. This may also cover her pet costs/care, any immediate travel needs, medical needs with sudden expenses most likely increasing daily given her critical care AND possibly enough money for household vehicle since they ride shared and no longer have transportation.

We may up the goal as the situation evolves or arrange other benefits and auctions around our community to relieve the financial stress they will be facing for some time. Any amount helps even just a share to your page.

All funds will go straight to the family for them to use on what needs are greatest. Feel free to email any questions or suggestions for fundraisers while the family handles the most important details.
