Emily's Road to Recovery- Stem cell Tretment

Donation protected
Last year Emily was involved in a serious car accident leaving her a quadriplegic at the age of 25. She has now been accepted for Stem cell treatment in Panama City. Emily has come a very long way in the last 18 months and has gained some movement in her arms, she works very hard each day and is ready to try the next level of therapy.

Stem cell therapy can be successful when nerve impulses can't get through the pathway in the spinal cord. In the case of a quadriplegic the patient goes from not being able to use their arms or hands to being able to perform normal functions such as eating, writing/typing, all of the things we take for granted on a daily basis. Lifetime costs for a quadriplegic are in the millions so gaining use of their upper limbs can lower those healthcare costs and significantly improve their quality of life.
Canada is currently only funding stem cell therapy for paraplegics thus our quest to raise funds for our girl to receive this therapy. We believe she is a great candidate as she has surpassed the initial diagnoses The cost for this ranges between $10k-35k USD. Our community has demonstrated their love for this girl once before when funds were needed to help keep family with her while bedridden and unable to talk and we are once again reaching out for support. Thank you very much
