Emily's ATLAS Global Health Fundraiser

Hello Everyone!

I will be spending 3 weeks in Mbale, Uganda this winter as the capstone project for my Global Health Curriculum in pediatric residency. I will be working closely with physicians and healthcare providers associated with the organization ATLAS International - a responsible non-profit that works with existing infrastructure and clinics to improve healthcare in Uganda.

This organization was founded by a former University of Wisconsin Pediatric resident physician, Dr. Lisa Umphrey. This program has done great work supporting ethical volunteerism and hosting trainees like me. One of the requirements for this international trip is fundraising for the organization which allows them to keep their program up and running and support their community, projects, and initiatives. This money goes directly to ATLAS and the work they do. It does NOT support my travel costs, which I will be paid for separately.
