Emily's Spinal Fusion Surgery

Emily is a 13yr old special needs child with several disabilities one being severe scoliosis. To correct her 76+ degree curve she will be having Spinal Fusion on Feb 1st. This procedure is very invasive, painful and has alot of possible complications. Surgeon will cut an incision down the length of her spine, pull or straighten her spine as much as they can and fuse a metal rod to it adding bone where needed. Recovery is lengthy. Due to her DD she is not able to fully understand what she is about to go thru. Emily is a happy, funny, big hearted, caring, animal loving kid and we don't want her to lose that light.

Surgery is in Chicago..hopefully a 5 day hospital stay but was longer with twin. Knowing/having previous experience with this procedure, having been thru it twice with her twin sister, a not-so-favorable outcome, we are asking for donations/prayers/help for Emily and her family. Needing help with travel (gas/motel) expenses, meals, loss of income, medical supplies (i.e. bandages, gauze, tylenol, etc for home), and to make her as comfortable as possible in and out of the hospital.
