Emily Weavers Brain Tumor Recovery!
Donation protected
Hey Friends!
I've set up this page in hopes of helping out the Weaver Family in their time of need.
Emily Weaver is a typical 14 year old girl who just finished a fantastic first season of track. She's beautiful, funny and so goofy! We all absolutely love her and her family!
On June 8th just 3 days before the end of her last day at middle school which just so happened to also be her younger sisters 12th birthday Emily suffered a seizure in the car while returning home from her younger sisters birthday dinner that evening. Thankfully the whole family was together in the car with her father Burns sitting right next to her.
The family rushed her to the hospital which she was later released and diagnosed with mono and dehydration - as the cause of the seizure.
A few days later it was suggested by Emily's pediatrician to send her for an EEG. After a few days the family received the results that there was a "blip" on her results and it was decided to have an MRI done. After the MRI was completed the family received the news that Emily had a 2" brain tumor with a 6" cystic mass that had been pushing on her brain.
Surgery was scheduled for that same week.
The tumor and cyst were removed and the biopsi showed it as cancerous. The doctors are very optimistic that they have removed the tumor however Emily will need to be seen for follow-up MRI's.
Emily's mother Lori has been by her side night and day since the incident and her parents have been taking care of her during recovery.
Her father has taken unpaid intermittent FMLA from his salaried job for appointments, etc., and her mother takes unpaid days from her hourly position due to her company's size not meeting the FMLA requirements.
The medical bills are beginning to be overwhelming and there is a $10k deductible on their health insurance.
If you know this family, then you would know that they always help everyone they can, even if they are barely helping themselves!
Now you also know they never would ask for help but it's my understanding that they definitely could use it.
The stress of having a child with a brain tumor is alone unbearable but then the added stress of not being able to financially support your family due to lost wages and mounting medical expenses can really take an emotional toll. It is my hope that any monetary donation will greatly help this family get back on there feet so they can concentrate on helping Emily recover.
Any little bit will help! Please show your support for Emily and the whole Weaver Family!
