Emma Archer is an artist born in Birmingham, for the last few years living in Italy with her partner Rob and her young son. They were visiting Birmingham over Christmas in order to visit family and exhibit her work.

On Christmas Eve their van was stolen which included all of the art works that had been recently exhibited at the successful Botanical Works exhibition of Emma's at Lightwoods Park & House, in Bearwood.

This included
26 x Framed paintings, A1 sized artist portflio including mounted painting and drawings (recently recovered), A2 sized artist portfolio with at least 30 mounted drawings, plus 3 x A4 presentation portfolio's  with photographical documentation of all previous works. All of this plus several easels, exhibition hanging equipment and framing equipment as well as personal items.
Emma has spent well over 12 months working on this body of work, investing
time, labour, energy and commitment, alongside working other part time jobs, in order to support her family. She had committed to donate 10% of all sales to Muscular Dystrophy UK, in support of Rob, her partner who suffers from the condition, which she would like to honour going forward.
For all this work, materials and equipment to be stolen in this way has been very difficult to take. While the van can be replaced  via insurance ,the artworks cannot, the emotional attachment and significance to them all is monumental.

For this family of three, as well as the emotional loss there is  a significant financial loss in merely now acquiring the materials again to replace what has been stolen and to produce a new body of work to replace, continue, move forward. This on top of the loss of some of the work which had already been sold and future sales and exhibitions moving forward at home in Italy.
We are trying to raise funds to enable Emma to purchase materials and framing equipment in order to start again, to create a new body of work, to try to recover emotionaly and financially from this loss and support her family. Throughout the last few weeks and all the sad and upsetting events she had remained positive and determined to carry on with her work, never bitter or negative.
We need to encourage and support her to create to inspire in her the mental ability to create despite recent unfortunate events
