Hi, my name is Ashley Grigor and my daughter Emma was in a terrible car accident 9/29/2023 just 2 weeks after her 17th birthday. She has Diffuse axonal injury (DAI), it is a traumatic brain injury that develops after the brain quickly shifts within the skull, such as when the body is shaken. This force causes axons in the brain to tear, causing a disruption in communication between the nerves in the brain, which can then lead to coma pr physical and cognitive impairment. I am asking for help because she has been in an induced coma for almost a week now and as a mother I cannot leave her side. I wait for the moment that my daughter opens her eyes again. The bills are piling up fast and quick and I’ve been unable to work. My world stopped when Emma became injured.

If you can help at all it would be much appreciated. We do not know the extent of brain damage yet nor do we know when she will wake up…it’s a waiting game at this point. We don’t know the extent of brain damage yet, she may need to relearn everything from walking to talking. Thank you everyone.
