This is Emma. This precious girl was born with a very rare and devastating genetic condition. Her condition has caused her to undergo (and will continue to undergo) many expensive but necessary medical tests / procedures. She has 5 specialized therapists and an orthopedic doctor who makes her braces.
Her parents, Josh and Elizabeth, make good money. However that does disqualify them from Medicaid or SS. They were recently denied a buy in for Medicaid.
Just a ball park of what they come up with outside of normal mortgage, car notes, utilities, groceries etc. Her water therapy is $250 a month. Her MRI was $8,000. Ortho $2000. I'm sure there is plenty more.
But imagine as parents. No sleeping in. No breaks. Date nights? Yeah Right. No running around a playground with their child. Instead, doctor appointments after doctor appointments. Therapists. Taking Emma any and everywhere possible to make her as comfortable as possible. These amazing people have devoted their entire lives to being a caregiver to this precious baby girl. They don't ask for help, hand outs, or anything in return.
If you can help in any way. This family, these parents, who are working hard long hours. Trying to make up the difference insurance won't pay for. Those extra hours they don't have to be at work. But can be home with Sweet Emma. I cannot begin to describe the gratitude they would feel. To know, they are not walking this alone. Emma is not alone. She is loved. She has a team of people behind her who love and support her. Who love her parents. Who want them to know we want to carry some of that weight from you. Lighten their load.
Again. Thank you. God bless you.
We are trying to keep this a secret for now. Josh nor Elizabeth have ANY idea any of this is in the works. But I could not read her last post and not try and do something. As a parent. I could not imagine. But I can try and make an impact. And I pray you can help me achieve this. For Emma.
