Hi, my name is Ella Castleberry and I am the niece of singer, Emmaretta Marks.

Emmaretta a.k.a. Emmy got her start on the Al Cooper's Blues Project. This launched her to star in the original cast of "Hair", the Broadway play and road tour performances. She also toured and sang around the world with musicians such as Ike and Tina Turner, Jimi Hendrix's Band of Jipsies, and The Rolling Stones.

Despite her success in music, Emmaretta had fallen on hard times. She had a long battle with dementia and became wheelchair bound which led to her death on 1/4/2022.

Unfortunately, she did not have life insurance which places the funeral arrangements on myself and my mother. Neither of us have the financial means to bury her. I have not attained a full time job since the pandemic hit. My mother, Emmaretta's sister is a retired educator on a fixed income.

Please help us bury Emmaretta Marks with dignity in the place of her birth, Washington, DC. All funds will go to my mom to pay funeral expenses, burial fees, and a marker for Emmaretta gravesite.
