Hello our amazing community,
We need your help!!! Please support Emma's fight against stage IV Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor!!!
Seven years ago, we met Emma & Joel Eltringham in unfortunate circumstances. Our children were all diagnosed with the same rare type of Leukaemia, Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Emma & Joel's daughter Ruby had been in remission for almost a year, and Emma reached out to offer support after finding out via mutual friends of our son's diagnosis. I remember being so grateful to have someone to talk to in those dark days locked in an isolation room, terrified for my child's life.
After a few weeks, Emma was concerned about Ruby as she was unwell with extreme pain in her head, and they received the devastating news that she had relapsed. I was heartbroken for them. It was so unfair to watch your child fight the battle once, let alone twice and the impact it has on your life is hard to fathom. Your world stops so you can provide the care your child needs and you struggle emotionally, mentally, physically and financially.
Emma and Joel were once again back on the oncology ward at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth with Ruby having the fight for her life ahead.
Thankfully, after many up's and down's Ruby had a successful bone marrow transplant and 7 years later she is going well. Life was finally getting back on track after this significant stressful period.
Emma and Joel expanded their little family and welcomed Evie, who is now 4, they have 3 beautiful children, Chayse, Ruby and Evie.
But once again Emma & Joel's life has been turned upside down by cancer, with Emma recently being diagnosed with a rare type of cancer - Stage IV Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor (pNET). This shock diagnosis at 33 years old after everything this amazing family has already been through is overwhelmingly difficult to comprehend.
Emma is such a strong loving mum who will fight this and we want to provide her and Joel with the support they need to give her the best chance possible and also help ease financial stresses after all the other trauma the family has experienced over the years. They would also love to have a special family holiday and make cherished memories, we want to ensure they can spend time together as a family and that Emma can get the additional therapies she needs and the children can get the support they require without having to worry about making ends meet.
Please share this far and wide and let's help this beautiful in their time of need.
Love,
Amy & Kara
