Blind man visits stadiums!
My name is Sam, and I along with the help of my family, aim to visit all of the league football stadiums in England and Wales for me to become one of the first blind men to do this.
As a man who has become recently blind (2021), who is also on kidney dialysis, my confidence in going out and about has been knocked. My sister met a really kind gentleman at her son's football training and told him my story. He then, as a fellow Man Utd fan, offered me his tickets to go and watch my first ever premier league match. Although Anxious, I couldn't wait! After such a positive experience I wanted to give myself a new challenge and along with my love of football, felt that this was a goal that could be achieved.
Whilst doing this, it also gives me the opportunity to see what accessibility options each club has for the blind.
Although I would love to complete this within a season, unfortunately due to health reasons and waiting for a transplant it will be a longer term goal over a few seasons.
When I visit each stadium during a match day, I will get a picture of myself outside the stadium along with one during the match to prove my attendance.
I am raising money for the RNIB as over the past year they have been invaluable in their support in helping me come to terms with becoming blind.
Please follow my story on Facebook to see how I'm getting on.
I'm raising money for RNIB CHARITY and any donation will help make an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
