Hi,
My names Emma and I started a hedgehog rescue in Norfolk in October. Prior to that I had been fostering hedgehogs and assisting in their supported release. I’m a final yr svn who absolutely adores hedgehogs and is desperate to do everything in my power to get hedgehogs off of the vulnerable to extinction list.
Incubators are a vital piece of equipment for Hedgehog Rescue’s so they can support neonates or any juvenile or adult hog in need. Thankfully with your help I was able to order The Brinsea 50Eco incubator. It’s been in my possession for a week now and it’s already had lots of use. With the extra funds I have purchased an Eickmeyer suction pump (see updated pics below) which should arrive on Thursday. This is another piece of vital kit to help save hedgehogs. Hedgehogs that are poorly out in the day time in warmer weather become victims of fly strike. Flies lay their eggs onto the sick hedgehog. Then in a matter of hours the eggs hatch into maggots. If the hedgehog’s are found soon enough, the eggs and maggots can be removed quickly by suction which prevents them feeding on the hogs bodily tissues. I would now with your help like to raise funds for one more suction pump so each rescue site has one to hand in an emergency. I would also like to raise funds for one nebulisers. Beurer 1H58UK. These are very useful for hedgehogs with breathing difficulties or heavy lungworm burdens. Any additional monies will be put towards medicine costs etc />Thank you for taking the time to read this xx❤️
