Help Emmett get knee surgery!
Donation protected
Update Feb 25/25 - Emmetts surgery is scheduled for Saturday the 1st. He will be staying at the vet for 3 days to recover, then on strict cage rest for 12 weeks post-op. I gave him Blitz'crate and a new cushy bed in the livingroom so he wouldn't be secluded in the bedroom away from everyone all the time. He's getting used to being crated, but I feel so bad for him
Update Feb 19/25 - Emmett's pre-operative appointment is scheduled for Friday Feb 21st! He will be sedated and have xrays taken to prepare for the surgery. Thank you so much for the help so far!! It is truly appreciated!!
Hi there, my name is Caitlin. I am a mom of 2 young girls, and also take care of my brother who has an intellectual developmental disability. I am just trying to make ends meet.
This is my boy Emmett, a super sweet and goofy 5 year old boxer lab, who loves snuggles and playing, and gets confused when we tell him that not everyone wants to be French kissed when they come in the door :D
On Februrary 13th around 730 pm, my dogs were outside playing. My brother was outside shoveling snow and heard a huge yelp, looked back and saw Emmett non- weight bearing on his left hind leg.
I took him to EVAH in London, Ontario for sedation and xrays, and it turns out he tore his ACL. He requires surgery to fix his knee.
They referred me to Thedford Animal Hospital for the surgery. They gave me a ballpark quote, including the pre-operative xrays, surgery itself, and post - operative xrays.
This came to ~$4000.
This does not include the $350 today for diagnostics at EVAH. My total goal is $4500, but anything helps.
Thank you so much, and Emmett gives you all the kisses!
