Emotional Literacy Movement: Start-up Fundraiser

The mission of The Emotional Literacy Movement (ELM) is to promote a compassionate society through brain-based programming focused on embodiment practices,

emotional expression, biology/neurology, and overall health and wellbeing.

We believe that by becoming an emotionally literate society, we develop skill sets that help us determine our needs, resolve conflict, thrive in our relationships, increase productivity, minimize the impacts of trauma on ourselves and others, and live a more balanced, vibrant life. By becoming more in tune with our body’s natural healing sequence, we are able to take strides in overcoming anxiety, depression, physical pain, managing our emotions, and resolving stress.

The ELM is an Education Hub, embracing a whole-body approach and integrating a variety of methods, including (but not limited to) the creative arts, music, movement, and nature-based practices into our programming. Our work aims to promote personal empowerment, foster connection, deepen one's understanding of self and others, and cultivate compassion for the human experience.

As we are in the early stages of our business development, we are seeking the support of community members to assist us in covering the start-up costs of our business.

ELM is raising funds to launch two exciting projects!

1. Wholehearted Leaders Homeschool Program is a holistic, nature-based education program for youth that weaves emotional literacy, permaculture, community, project-based learning & emergent curriculum.

2. The ELM Education Reform Project's goal is to impact the mental health and overall wellbeing of educators and students in the private and public school systems. We aim to reach school divisions through emotional literacy education, which includes creating online emotional literacy training opportunities and in-person professional development for school divisions and educators across Canada.

Funds will be used to develop online content, create educational resources and pay for permits, insurance, and necessary teaching materials.
