Empower a Future Attorney's Journey

I have always only had one goal, which is to be a District Attorney and defend injustices under the law. You may be wondering where my obsession with activism in law first began. When I was 8 years old, I witnessed my father get his head shoved onto a police car and beaten onto his knees as he was being unrightfully detained by a policeman for innocently walking toward his car. Though initially, they were not there for him, but for an altercation amongst my neighbors, somehow because of his deep skin tone, he was targeted. This became the pinnacle discovery of what I was going to pursue when I attended college. I hope to take my skills of defense to college to pursue my career goal of one day using them in court as a district attorney and defending those who may lack a voice. I also wish to make sure all the sacrifices my mother made until this day to assure my goals were accomplished were not left in vain and I wish to be the best role model possible for my younger sister just as my mother was to me. I know that I must succeed and fortunately, I have constant factors helping me overcome these endeavors. My family, my aspirations, and my family’s poor financial status are factors that have driven me to succeed. This GoFundMe will support my ambitions and provide me with the aid I need to ensure that my hard work and dedication carry me far. Although I have faced tough challenges, they have shaped me into the strong person I am today and I refuse to allow my financial obstacles to stop me from going to my dream university UCLA and pursuing my dreams of being an Attorney.
