Help Me Start a New Life – From Surviving to Thriving:
Hi, my name is Ari, and I’m a second-year university student pursuing a major in Psychology, a minor in Statistics, and a certificate in Public Policy and Community Action. I’ve worked hard to maintain strong academics and have been honored with awards and fellowships for my performance and dedication.
But behind these accomplishments is a much more difficult story.
Until recently, I lived in a home where physical and emotional abuse were part of my daily reality. For years, I was not allowed to work, drive, or even begin to build an independent life. Every part of me—my freedom, my growth, my future—was tightly controlled.
After years of enduring this, I finally made the decision to leave and start over on my own. It was the hardest and bravest decision I’ve ever made. I am now doing everything I can to build a safe, stable, and healthy life.
But I can’t do it alone.
Leaving meant giving up the only home I had, with no financial safety net. I am now facing the terrifying possibility of having to drop out of university and even homelessness. Despite juggling school, healing, and finding my footing, the odds are overwhelming.
Why I’m Asking for Help:
I am fundraising to cover basic needs like:
Safe housing
Transportation (including the ability to get my driver’s license)
Essential living expenses
Academic costs not covered by financial aid
This support would mean not just survival—but a real chance to thrive.
Who I Am Beyond the Struggle:
I’m not defined by what I’ve been through. I’m a student, a reader, a painter, a violinist, and a singer. I spend my time volunteering as a tutor and mentor to younger students—something I love deeply, and a way to give back for the support I wish I had growing up.
I believe in healing, in creating a life filled with purpose, and in using my education to help others who’ve experienced trauma and adversity. Your help can be the turning point in this journey—not just to escape my past, but to finally build a future.
If you’ve read this far—thank you. Whether or not you’re able to donate, even sharing this with others can make a difference. I am endlessly grateful for your kindness, support, and belief in me.
With love and hope,
Ari
