Hi, my name is Sydney Scott, and I’m starting UCSB Crown Collective—a pop-up beauty supply to provide Black students with accessible hair care products, styling services, and a space to connect and celebrate our culture. At a predominantly white institution, finding essentials like braiding hair or edge control is difficult, but Crown Collective aims to change that.
