Empower BSU Students: Fund Identity-Based Graduation Stoles
Donation protected
Help us take action into our own hands and collect funds to relieve this unexpected financial burden for our graduating students by allowing them to celebrate their successes of graduating at Boise State University free of charge.
DEADLINE: Thursday, May 1st, 2025 | More Information below
Boise State University has unceremoniously canceled all upcoming cultural and identity-based stole celebrations, in which students are given their own stoles to symbolize the amazing accomplishments they've achieved in graduating at BSU. Now, graduating students from minority communities across campus have been left to PAY out of pocket for the ability to even receive one of these stoles, without any support from the University. Even after attempting to receive help from other student support and advocacy venues, efforts to receive any support from any part of the University have been unsuccessful.
We're asking for a total of $7,300 to cover the costs for our student communities here on campus! For transparency, the breakdown of costs goes as follows:
Total Costs for Graduation Stoles: $7,300.31
- Black Excellence Stoles (Approx. 50 stoles) - $1,850.00
- Latinx Stoles (Approx. 65 stoles) - $2,405.00
- Asian & Pacific Islander Stoles (Approx. 50 stoles) - $2,300.00
- Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, CNMI (Approx. 3 stoles) - $111.30
- Middle East North African, MENA (Approx. 15 stoles) - $629.21
- Rainbow Cords (Approx. 14 stoles) - $9.80
These funds will be paid DIRECTLY for stoles, which will be given DIRECTLY to students. Anything truly helps, so please support this student-led effort to continue empowering our communities at Boise State!
