Empower DRC Miners Towards Better Conditions
Tax deductible
The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is the world's capital for cobalt mining. Without cobalt, you wouldn't be able to read this post right now. But have you ever wondered what it takes to obtain the cobalt that powers your smartphones, computers, and other electronic devices? Cobalt can only be obtained through mining—often in dark, unstable tunnels that are prone to collapse at any moment. Children work countless hours for mere pennies, while artisanal miners toil around the clock in harsh conditions just to provide for their families. This relentless work slowly destroys their health. What will it take to stop this? How can we help them provide for their families without sacrificing their well-being?
