Latest Masjid Update video:

This latest video introduces Nurul Quran Islamic Boarding School for orphaned and local girls in Sukabumi, Indonesia. The school was inaugurated in August 2023 by Ustad Zaid Bahmid, Shaykh Ramy Najmeddine, and Brother Samir Mounajed with their families and friends.

The school empowers young girls to memorise the Quran and grow into future Quranic teachers and positive contributors to Indonesian society.

In September 2019, a heart-wrenching incident occurred when Abdul Kader Mounajed, aged 23 and an aspiring electrician, lost his life in a tragic car accident. On his way home from Friday prayer in Roxburgh Park (Melbourne), his vehicle veered out of control and collided with a tree.

His sudden death left a deep void in the hearts of his loved ones – family, friends, and everyone who knew him.

Moved by this tragedy, his father Samir Mounajed reached out to Shaykh Ramy. Together, they began a mission to honour Abdul Kader’s memory by establishing a perpetual charity.

They raised initial funds through events and the generous contributions of families, friends, and supporters. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, the vision remained alive.

After much effort, the perfect opportunity emerged through Ustad Zaid in Indonesia. His dedication to expanding a Quran Tahfiz school for orphan girls was the spark that reignited the effort. A suitable site was found in Cibadak Sukabumi.

Renovations and preparations began, aiming to open a second branch of the Quranic school dedicated to orphan girls.

After a diligent search, a beacon of goodness was discovered in the form of Ustad Zaid, a close friend of Shaykh Ramy in Indonesia. Ustad Zaid’s mission to establish a second branch of a Quran tahfiz boarding school for orphan girls resonated deeply. The vision to expand the school and build additional facilities continued despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic.

The Nurul Quran Tahfiz School in Cibadak, Sukabumi was chosen as the site to bring this effort to life. With dedication and teamwork, the project reached operational stage—welcoming its first group of students and beginning a new chapter of opportunity and hope.

With renovations, furnishing, and preparations completed, a significant milestone was reached — the official opening of the school took place on Wednesday, 24th August 2023. The event was attended by Shaykh Ramy, the Mounajed family, school management including Ustad Zaid and his partner, as well as the local town representative.

Everyone came together to help establish this valuable institution. The school is now ready to accommodate and educate 50 orphan girls, focusing on Arabic language and Quran memorisation. It stands as a symbol of what sincere effort and unity can achieve.

The journey is not over. Yes, we’ve reached the operational stage thanks to the generous initial donations — but there are still a few key things left to complete. This final stage is an opportunity for brothers and sisters around the world to share in the reward of finishing what was started, inshaAllah.

The school still needs ongoing support for important needs, including:

Building an onsite masjid
Constructing pathways
Landscaping the grounds
Providing annual Qurban for the girls
Covering monthly essentials for the students

Let’s complete this together.

Assessing the 200-250m2 approx where the masjid will be built

Your support remains vital in completing this effort:

  • Masjid construction onsite — $30,000 USD / $45,000 AUD
  • Landscaping and pathways — $5,000 USD
  • Annual Qurban for 50 girls — $300 USD
  • Monthly hygiene needs — $5 USD per student ($250 total/month)
  • Annual stationery costs — $30 per student ($1,500 USD total)

Together, we can shape a brighter future for these orphan girls. What began as a response to grief has now become a legacy of growth and guidance.

Your donation will directly support building the masjid on the school grounds.

It will serve the girls for all five daily prayers and remain open for nearby residents as a place of prayer — offering both reward and benefit to the wider community.

I hope we can exceed the goal and cover the remaining needs as well, inshaAllah. Once the target is reached, I’ll personally return to Indonesia, document the construction, and attend the masjid opening — just as I did with the school — to show what we achieved together.

Whether you're a YouTuber, a businessperson, or someone who simply cares — this is your chance to be part of something lasting.

Thank you for standing with us.
