Support Future Leaders: UCLA Students' Mission at DNC 2024
Donation protected
We are a group of four passionate college students from UCLA, majoring in Political Science, Labor Studies, Communications, and Sociology, representing Filipino, Chinese, and Taiwanese ethnic backgrounds. We recently had the incredible opportunity to attend a national conference of AAPI elected and appointed officials in Las Vegas in June. This experience was transformative, as it showed us the impact of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) representation in political environments. After meeting numerous AAPI elected officials, assembly members, congressional representatives, and advocates from cities and states across the U.S. who are dedicated to creating change and advocating for the betterment of all marginalized communities, we were inspired by their efforts and shared ethnic backgrounds. This experience reinforced our belief that representation matters. We are committed to promoting a more inclusive and diverse political landscape, ensuring that all voices, especially those from underrepresented groups, are heard, valued, and have a seat at the table.
Our group is committed to addressing key social issues such as human rights, access to housing and healthcare, wealth and income inequalities, advocating for better living conditions for the working, lower, and middle classes and championing social justice as a whole. These causes are not just our passions; they are the seeds of our career aspirations and our drive to make a meaningful difference in our communities.
We recently were invited to volunteer at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in August at Chicago. We are reaching out to seek your support for our fundraiser to cover the costs of this impactful student advocacy mission. The total expense is $3500, which includes ticket fees, travel, and accommodation. Your generous contribution will not only help us manage these costs but also enable us to further our education and advocacy work, empowering us to become the next generation of change-makers.
Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to our goal. By supporting us, you are investing in the future leaders dedicated to creating a more equitable and just society. Thank you for believing in us and our mission. Together, we can make a difference.
