The beautiful life of Alexandra Rose Leal

God knows he broke my heart when he took you. I don’t have the words to say, and the pain I feel is indescribable. You had so much potential and so much love and beauty to offer this world. You were selfless in all your acts of kindness you would do for others. Your heart was pure and soft. After everything you’ve been through in life, you didn’t let this world jade you. It takes a special and very strong woman to do that. I feel like I lost a piece of myself that night, as I’m sure many others do too. You had such an important role within our family unit that no one else but you could fill, and there will forever be that void now. You were such a LOUD, bright light that demanded attention when you walked into the room, and I hope you know that this family greatly loved you and will forever miss you. You will forever be my sister in this life and the next because God truly made you for us.
As most of you all know, on September 18th at approx 10:33 pm, I received the most tragic, terrifying, and heart-stopping phone call one could ever hear in their lifetime. A phone call in which I hope no one ever has the ill-fated pleasure of having to hear, receive, and grasp within a matter of minutes. The call did not come from police or paramedics, not even the hospital. Which I hope in the future changes in a lot of ways to help people get to their loved ones sooner. This year alone in Indiana there have been 99 hit and runs with Alexandra making the 16th fatal hit and run. This month alone there were 15 and last month made 20. I’m left to sit here and ask myself how many of those hit and runs were solved? How many are spending time behind bars? How quickly did they catch them? I have so many unanswered questions and I don’t understand how someone could be so senseless. How you can sit at home and watch the news with your feet kicked up knowing there’s a life lost and multitude of grieving children, siblings, friends and loved ones. No one should have to go through that, and to make matters even worse her own two children sat helplessly watching just a few feet away. Even after being struck and lying there in the road, no one stopped to help. So with that being said, police are searching for a blue Toyota/Nissan sedan (I’m not sure if we know the exact make and model) with front-end damage, and if anyone knows anything or maybe spots this vehicle while out driving, please, please say something. People need to start speaking up and stop letting people get away with these types of crimes to continue to do it again to someone else and their family. I hope you all stay safe out there and that no one has to go through this again.
with all that being said my family and I are asking for your help with burial costs and things of that nature with whatever being left over to go to her only surviving two children. We appreciate all you efforts in advance and again just stay safe out there and hug your loved ones and cherish every moment because this definitely goes to show just how short life can get cut to the ones we least expect it to.
She was ultimately the light to every single room she ever walked into, so loud with love. She never failed to let her family know how much she cared for them, always doing for her family over her own self. Literally one of the strongest women that we all know. She always made sure that our family issues were resolved; she valued her family with great intensity. We all love her beyond what words can express, and we miss her dearly.
All donations will be going towards her funeral expenses, and whatever is left over will be going towards the needs of her children. We thank you in advance.
