Empower Leah and Josh's Journey with Transport Aid
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Adam and I work at Triangle Rock Club in Raleigh, NC.
I started this Go Fund Me for one of my amazing coworkers and fellow climbers, Leah Grosjean.
Leah was born with Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis (LCA), a rare genetic disorder, leaving her blind. Leah has a 9-year-old son, Josh, who inherited her disease, leaving him blind as well.
Leah is not only an amazing, hardworking, and friendly coworker, but she also happens to be representing the United States as a member of the National Paraclimbing World Cups.
Leah and Josh face challenges every day that most of us don’t think twice about. One of which is finding daily transportation to and from work, school, and other activities.
Public Transportation is currently available at no cost in the Triangle for those with disabilities, but that is about to change on July 1st. Leah and Josh will soon have to pay $5 per person, per day, for some of their transportation.
In our current economy and already facing an uphill battle with LCA, it is no easy feat to gain more employment and income, in their single-parent household, where Leah is the sole provider for Josh.
I created this fundraiser with a goal of $1,000 in order to help ease the financial stress, and tough transition in paying for what should be, free public transportation for Leah and her son Josh, allowing them more time to find a long-term solution.
Getting to and from school and work for those with disabilities, to survive and be productive members of society, should be a basic human right.
Please donate whatever you can to help this amazing Mother and Son duo during a challenging time.
Thank you, and God Bless!
