We are reaching out to you today on behalf of my beloved granddaughter, Lily, who is a bright and determined 9-year-old girl facing some unique challenges in her educational journey. Lily has been diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning delays that impact her ability to read and write independently. Despite these challenges, Lily's passion for math and science shines through, and her comprehension skills are remarkable when given the right support.

Unfortunately, navigating the New York State educational system to secure an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for Lily has been an uphill battle for my daughter Rebeka and her husband. After exhausting efforts to work with the local school district of Longwood on Long Island, she has turned to homeschooling to ensure Lily receives the attention and specialized instruction she needs. While this transition has been positive in many ways, it has also brought financial strain, especially as they strive to provide Lily with external educational programs like Hooked on Phonics, Huntington Learning Center, and Brain Balance, which have shown promise but come at significant costs.

We are currently awaiting a New York State Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) to challenge the school district's initial decision and ensure Lily's educational needs are appropriately met. We strongly believe that with the right educational support and resources, Lily can thrive academically and continue to pursue her passions confidently.
