Who are we?

WAVES Lobitos is a non-profit organization that, for over 10 years, has been using sports as a tool for integral development in Lobitos, a small coastal town in northern Peru. Our surf, skate, jiujitsu, and art programs not only teach sports skills but also instill values like respect, collaboration, and environmental care.

What are we doing?

We’ve developed a three-year project to train local instructors in methodologies based on Surf Therapy. These tools will transform every class into an enriching experience that promotes physical, emotional, and social well-being for children and youth.

Why is it important?

Lobitos faces economic and social challenges, such as a lack of educational and employment opportunities, putting its children and youth at risk. This project aims not only to keep them away from vulnerability but also to provide them with a safe space to grow, dream, and build a better future for themselves and their community.

Thanks to the support of FEDEVACO, which is funding 80% of the total budget, we have already made significant progress. However, we need to raise the remaining 20% to complete the annual budget and ensure the successful implementation of this project.

What do we need?

To implement this project, we need to raise 20% of the annual budget. This campaign is dedicated to funding the period from November 2024 to July 2025, with a goal of $6,300 USD.

What will we achieve with your help?

• Train 10 new instructors in innovative methodologies.

• Expand the reach of our programs to over 100 children and youth.

• Build a stronger, more resilient, equitable, and sustainable community.
