Empower Ny’anna's Independence with a Van

Hello everyone, my name is Emma Plummer. I am the mother of Ny’anna. Many of you know my warrior princess or have watched her journey through social media on her Facebook, Ny’anna’s Journey, you’ve watched her grow and face many challenges in life. Challenges that she continues to overcome. 

Ny’anna is diagnosed with SMA type 1(Spinal Muscular Atrophy), which is the most severe form of SMA.

SMA is a disease that causes the muscles to become weak and waste away. The life expectancy of babies born with SMA type 1 is 2 years old; and with that said, Ny’anna has beaten all odds. That is why I call her my Warrior Princess. With SMA, Ny' anna does not meet typical milestones such as holding her head up, sitting up, walking, and speaking (Ny’anna is non-verbal). Ny’anna is not able to swallow or breathe on her own; therefore, she is dependent on a g-tube for feeding and a ventilator for breathing.

With all the many challenges Ny'anna faces, she continues to be a happy 8-year-old who loves her toys, especially princesses and IPAD which she now uses to communicate with her family.

My hopes are for my daughter to continue to grow mentally and experience life as normal as possible. However, traveling has become more difficult due to the many medical devices Ny'anna is dependent on to sustain basic everyday needs. 

I would love for my daughter to be able to experience water parks or even be able to go to the community parks.

She deserves to explore this world with us. She deserves to travel and see the sky in different cities, she deserves to be able to ride safely and comfortably, without the feeling of being confined in a small space.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to help us raise money to purchase a wheelchair accessible van for Ny’anna.
