Empower Orphans in Quito with Culinary Skills

My name is Sofia Arango, and I’m the founder of Latinos en Pizza, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities and building a strong pizza community across Latin America. With Alessio Lacco Co-Founder, I’ve been immersed in the art of pizza, learning from the very best in Naples, Italy, and sharing that passion wherever I go. Today, our mission goes beyond crafting the perfect pizza—it’s about crafting futures.
Recently, our journey led us to Quito, Ecuador, where we discovered an incredible orphanage filled with resilient and hopeful children. These children dream of a brighter future, and we believe we can help them achieve it. Our vision is to transform a part of this orphanage into a culinary institute where these young individuals can learn the art of pizza-making. But this isn’t just about pizza; it’s about teaching them valuable culinary skills that open doors to opportunities in pasta making, sauces, sandwiches, and even specialties like mozzarella, prosciutto, and gelato.
Our dream goes further. We want to create a space that nurtures not only their culinary talents but also their minds and spirits. Imagine a place where these kids can attend computer classes, access a library, and explore other fields of knowledge and creativity. They deserve more than just sustenance—they deserve education, empowerment, and a community that believes in them.
This project isn’t just about food; it’s about giving these children the tools to thrive. By supporting us, you’re not just donating—you’re investing in a future where these kids can rise above their circumstances and achieve greatness. Together, we can turn this vision into reality and build a community where education and opportunity pave the way for a better life.
Join us on this journey. Let’s build something extraordinary, one pizza—and one dream—at a time.
