Empower Pet Care: Cheryl's Kind Heart Lives On

Hi everyone!! I am Brenda, Cheryl Caniford-Carney's big sister! As you all know, Cheryl was an avid animal lover! During her battle this past year, she and I had many conversations about what to do if she passed away. One of her wishes was for people not to spend money on flowers upon her passing. Instead, she requested that money be donated toward helping others and their fur babies!!!

She was a long-time customer of Forrest Avenue Animal Hospital in Dover, DE, and would like money raised to go to them. The intention is to help pet humans that cannot afford a service or medication for their loving pet. At the doctor's discretion, he/she could offer the pet owner money from this fund to pay for their pet's current medical need. The money will not be required to be paid back.

In Cheryl's honor, my intention is to start a foundation and expand beyond Forrest Avenue Animal Hospital. Using GoFundMe was the quickest way to get a process together to be included in her obituary. Once her funeral services are over, I will begin the process of establishing an official foundation. The dream is to expand her concept to other animal hospitals in our area, with the hopes of one day going national!

All of you know how much Cheryl means to me, and I am honored to keep her memory and her love of animals alive through this foundation. The foundation will be called "Cheryl's Paw It Forward"
