Hi!
God is on the MOVE and he WANTS YOU TO BE TOO!
Semper Fi Mission is humbly asking for help raising money to support our organization to provide hope and provisions, including crisis intervention and homeless services to our neighbors most in need.
Have you ever thought to yourself that you wished you were doing more to help those less fortunate? Have you ever went through trials and tribulations and said "If I ever have the chance to give back, I am going to help out too"? Have you ever wondered how you can be a vessel of God's love and mercy in your life and bless others????
HERE IS YOUR CHANCE! DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY!
We are an organization consisting of volunteers whose goal is to bring hope and provisions to our most desperate neighbors. Semper Fi Mission has the ability to not only carry a message of hope, but we help our neighbors with the resources they need to never be homeless or incarcerated again, or to escape their current crisis, and lead fulfilling lives giving back to others. The veteran background of the founders of Semper Fi Mission does create a Veteran centric focus while at the same time we are able to connect with all veterans and non-veterans alike to provide them the help they need!
Semper Fi Mission was formed by two former United States Marines who with the help of God have overcome addiction, prison, and homelessness. They are driven by the understanding that in serving others they serve their purpose on earth. The founders of Semper Fi Mission know that they were pulled out of darkness to go back into the darkness to bring others into light!
Chuck Ondo, a Co-Founder of Semper Fi Mission is the owner of Valor Men's Grooming and also is a trainer for a task force helping police interact with Veterans that lead to more positive outcomes. He is a United States Marine and a former Pennsylvania State Trooper. Chuck was also recently named the Veterans Advocate of the Year by the Department of Labor! Chuck's prison ministry is absolutely inspiring, and he devotes almost all of his time helping others find freedom and success from their demons and the obstacles that hold them back from reaching their full potential. Chuck is in recovery and has a heart for those who are incarcerated and struggling to find truth in their life, which is in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Kenneth Aquiline, the other Co-Founder of Semper Fi Mission, is a United States Marine and is in recovery by the Grace of God. Kenneth overdosed over 10 times and knew when he got sober that he is now working for the God who saved and recreated his life. He has a background in politics, serving as a Chief of Staff, and is the current Veterans Outreach Representative for a Congressional Office. Kenneth also administers a grant related to overdose education and prevention. Kenneth takes recovery groups into the Department of Veterans psychiatric and detox unit and is also a volunteer firefighter for the Southern Allegheny Valley Emergency Services Organization. Kenneth has a passion for meeting people where they are at and helping those who are homeless and struggling with mental health and addiction find the solution and become housed, employable, servants of God who then go and do the same with others.
We operate within four pillars of service.
- Prison Ministry
- Homeless Community Outreach
- Mentorship
- PrayerCuts!
PrayerCuts!
- PrayerCuts is our new program that provides FREE HAIRCUTS to our fellow veterans and homeless population once a month.
- PrayerCuts creates spaces where conversations occur, dignity is given, hope is received, and our neighbors receive the attention and care they need to feel valued.
- PrayerCuts provides a static location where our neighbors in need can meet and connect with organizations and individuals who can assist them with other needs they have.
- PrayerCuts is being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ in a meaningful way through prayer and haircuts.
Prison Ministry
- Weekly outreach to the Allegheny County Jails.
- We provide a message of hope, bibles, recovery literature and more to influence and impact the narratives of our incarcerated neighbors to one that they can recover and become productive members of society.
- We stay in contact with recently released individuals to ensure they get the spiritual and material support they need to find housing, meaningful employment, and a community that supports them on their journey of recovery.
- In as little as six months, through our prison ministry, we have brought over 250 men to find salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ!
Homeless Outreach
- We provide a monthly meal in the community feeding over 100 of our neighbors in need. We also have two large storage units filled with clothes, hygiene items, and other necessities that we transport to our outreach to provide our neighbors with all of their needs.
- Frequently, as needed, we will immediately find temporary housing for the homeless, hotels or other safe places, in order to get them connected to a social services organization who can meet their needs long-term.
- Twice a month we canvass the streets of Pittsburgh providing food, sleeping bags, bibles and other literature to promote our other outreach events that will connect them with resources to get them permanently off the streets and onto a better way of living.
Mentorship
- One on one mentorship and fellowship to support our neighbors who struggle.
- Similar to a caseworker or sponsor in a recovery program, however, our mentors have a personal stake in the success of their mentees, and they are all volunteers.
Semper Fi Mission in its short month history has touched hundreds of lives, leading to the ministering of many people and many changed futures.
Semper Fi Mission is changing lives that change communities!
